Happiness index
Happiness index, also known as the subjective well-being
index or the happiness index, is a measure of overall well-being or happiness
of a population. It is typically based on self-reported data, such as surveys,
in which people are asked to rate their happiness or satisfaction with various
aspects of their lives, such as their health, relationships, work, and leisure
activities. The happiness index is often used by governments and organizations
as a way to gauge the well-being of their citizens or employees, and to
identify areas for improvement. It can also be used to compare the happiness of
different countries or regions.
According to the
World Happiness Report, which is an annual publication of the United Nations
Sustainable Development Solutions Network, the happiest countries in the world
are:
1. Finland
2. Denmark
3. Switzerland
4. Iceland
5. Netherlands
6. Sweden
7. New Zealand
8. Canada
9. Austria
10. Australia
This ranking is based on factors such
as income, social support, life expectancy, freedom to make life choices,
trust, and generosity. It should be noted that happiness is subjective and can
vary from person to person, so these rankings should be taken as a general
indication of well-being rather than a definitive measure of happiness.
why don,t you compare
the happiness of different countries
The World Happiness
Report, which is an annual publication of the United Nations Sustainable
Development Solutions Network, compares the happiness of different countries.
The report ranks countries based on factors such as income, social support,
life expectancy, freedom to make life choices, trust, and generosity. It should
be noted that happiness is subjective and can vary from person to person, so
these rankings should be taken as a general indication of well-being rather
than a definitive measure of happiness.
instead of competing
for economic supremacy or military supremacy, why don,t the developed countries
and UN take steps for the improvement of happiness status in underdeveloped
countries? This will improve the conditions of the developing world. There will
be all-round development in all parameters which contribute to happiness.
Improving the
happiness and well-being of people in underdeveloped countries is an important
goal and one that many governments and organizations around the world are
working towards. There are a number of programs and initiatives in place that
are focused on promoting economic development, improving access to education
and healthcare, and addressing social and cultural issues in underdeveloped
countries. For example, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
include a goal to "ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at
all ages," which aims to improve the health and well-being of people in
all countries, including underdeveloped countries. Many NGOs and charitable
organizations are also working to address issues such as poverty, inequality,
and access to basic necessities in underdeveloped countries.
there should be some
mandatory guideline which are applicable to all the countries, or a minimum
standard of happiness which the Governments' should guarantee to its
citizens. This has be forced on the administrations by the UN. The duties of the
UN has to be expanded to include the overall development.
